I had an Orange Breasted Waxbill that tried and tried to start a family of it's own but never succeeded. I think the conditions in the aviary was always too hot for them. They'd start a nest and then nothing would hatch out and in the end the'd abandon the nest and start again. The cycle just continued till the hen died.
Now the cock has decided it would feed all the baby gouldians who have recently left the nest . The baby Gouldians were happy to flap their little wings and accept the food.
Has anyone seen this type of behaviour with any of their birds?

Its lovely when birds do that, a friend of mine had a nanday conure that used to feed the baby cockatiels when they fledged. I also had a princess parrot hen that used to try and feed the baby king quails at the bottom of her aviary.

Unfortunately, I don't have that Orange Breasted anymore. He perished in the rat attack of 2006..See my writeup but don't if you are squirmish.
